Less is More
This past weekend, I hosted a Poker Themed Party for my husband. The hardest part of any event for me isn't deciding on what to wear.......it's deciding how to wear my makeup. I knew this was a Poker party and I wanted to be comfortable, but still sexy (for Hubbs ya know?). So I decided to wear minimal makeup, but amp it up on the eyeliner and lips. Here is what I did...
Get The look
I started out with brows. Of course I filled in my brows using the NYX cosmetics brow pencil in the shade Chocolate. (To get an in depth training on how to fill and shape your brows, enroll in my online course for only $15. Click here to enroll today.) Next I used my favorite foundation as of late, NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation in the shade Macao. I love how light weight, yet pigmented this foundation is. My skin appears to love it too. This foundation truly looks like your skin....and the best part is....you apply it with your fingers!!
For this look, I decided to pass on the eyeshadow and went straight in with eyeliner. For this sexy look, I knew a winged liner was a MUST. I grabbed my Ruby Kisses Gel Liner in Black along with a Sigma E05 Eyeliner Brush . I wish I knew an easier way to teach the winged liner method...but truth be told, it's all in the clean up. PRO TIP: Once you've drawn your winged liner, go back in with a flat eyeliner brush and concealer and clean up your wing to make it sharp and even. Once you have the liner just like you want it, pop on a pair of lashes with just a hint of drama. In this picture, I used the SLAYLA lash by Flutter Lashes. These lashes were a limited edition, but here are similar lashes.
Now for the fun part.......THE LIPS! You can truly get creative with the look simply by choosing a bold lip color. I of course decided to choose my signature RED LIP. I love red lipstick!!! PRO TIP: when wearing (any lip color, but especially a bold lip) go in with a lip liner first! Lip liners not only give detail to your lips, but they also act as a barrier to prevent your lipstick from bleeding.
Finalize the look
Last but not least, I added some finishing touches to the look by adding a berry colored blush to my cheeks. I also misted my face with a setting spray to lock my look in place all night. It's just that easy! You can create this look in under 20 minutes! Give it a try.
