How to Glam (made simple) this Holiday Season- Look #1
How to Glam for the Holidays Step by Step:
The holiday season is quickly approaching us, and this holiday season, I want to show you how to look fabulous for any occasion. There are a few staple items that we all need in our makeup collection that will help with creating the perfect looks for your special events this holiday season. Often times when I think of the holidays, I think of bold red lips, sultry smokey eyes, office parties, lots of sparkle and glam. I will show you 3 different looks that will take you from the workplace to the party space.
Look #1- Neutral Eyes/Bold Lip - Work Appropriate
This first look places the emphasis on the lips. This look is very work appropriate, yet it allows for just enough glam to carry you throughout your day. What you will need:
- A Matte Foundation
- Gel Eyeliner or Liquid Liner
- Eyeliner Brush
- Red Lipstick
- Gold Eyeshadow
To start the look you will prime your face as always with your favorite face primer, mine at the moment is Smashbox's photofinish face primer. This primer preps your skin for a flawless foundation application by reducing the appearance of fine lines and pores. Next you want to apply a matte foundation. Matte foundations along with an excellent primer will give your make up a non-oily, flat look. Once you have applied your foundation, add your gel eyeliner, but the key is to add a semi-dramatic wing on the end. The simplicity of plain eyes with eye liner makes for a classy, yet holiday festive look. Simply top off the eyes by applying two coats of mascara. To add the pop of color to this look, apply your favorite red lipstick. I suggest: Ruby Roo by MAC Cosmetics/Ri Ri Woo by MAC Cosmetics, or Wet N' Wild #928. These are amazing shades of red and top off this look beautifully! Check out the video below on how you can create a simple look for this Holiday Season.
