Are you ready for some HIGH DRAMA?!!! MAC Cosmetics released (a while back) their Retro Matte Lipstick Collection. I was so super excited. The colors are so vivid and they just screamed Spring/Summer to me. I have been in attendance and on time for Liquid Lipsticks. Many of you know my favorite red lipstick is from Anastasia Beverly Hills and my favorite nude lipstick is from Kat Von D. Both of these are liquid lipsticks. Of course when I saw MAC released their liquid lipsticks, I had to give them a try. There were so many shades to choose from, however, I ended up choosing High Drama, Lady Be Good, Quite the Standout, and Recollection. Due to back order issues, I only received High Drama.

The High Drama Tea

The packaging is super cute, I love everything about it. There is a good bit of product that comes in the packaging so that's always a win! The consistency was a little thick and I did notice chunking right after my initial swatch. This gave me some serious concerns.  The key to a good liquid lipstick is most definitely consistency. You don't want a product that dries too matte that your lips are super dry, but then again, you don't want it so moisturizing that it doesn't dry matte. Yeah....I know it's tough to get right. I also noticed upon my swatch, the pigmentation was not as strong as I hoped for. I knew I would need at least 2-3 applications to achieve the true color payoff of high drama. I filmed a video to give you a true visual of my experience with this product. Leave a comment below or on the video, let me know if you too have used any of the Retro Matte lipsticks from MAC.
