The Skin is the largest organ in your body, and its essential that you take care of it. During the summer, your skin is exposed to extra harm due to the sun and risk of dehydration. There are 5 essential steps you can take to Summer Proof your Skin.
The best thing you can do for your skin is to keep it hydrated. Once your skin is hydrated, it can thrive and look healthy. The texture and natural glow of your skin will drastically improve. Dry, dull skin could be a sign of dehydration. The rule of thumb has always been to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day (at minimum). There are so many ways to get water in your body now. One thing that I live by are the crystal light packets. They drastically change the taste of plain water and they don't have sugar. Try those if you are not a fan of plain water.
2. Take a Multivitamin
Hair, Skin, and Nail vitamins are awesome for your skin. The Biotin is very helpful in helping your skin, hair and nails. There are tons of vitamins on the market that are helpful. Vitamins such as Hairfinity vitamins have been receiving awesome reviews, however they are on the pricey side. You can go to GNC or your local drug store to purchase a good multivitamin.
3. Skin Care Regimen
You have to take care of your skin if you want it to take care of you. Cleansing your face twice/day and moisturizing with SPF is one of the most important things you can do for your skin. Throughout the day, your skin gets exposed to harmful chemicals and toxins such as pollution and the sun. It is necessary to rid your skin of all of those toxins and to restore moisture. I always recommend using a moisturizer with SPF to add protection for your skin against the harmful rays of the sun.
4. Change to a Powder
In the summer, it's hot, you're sweaty and who wants to wear a face full of makeup? I try to always change over to a powder foundation opposed to a cream or liquid foundation. The powder is very light, yet it will still provide you with the coverage that you would need throughout the day. The lighter the makeup, the less chance for clogged and irritated pores, which in turn could lead to less breakouts!
5. Skin Refresher
I love using products such as MAC Cosmetics Fix + spray to refresh my skin and my makeup throughout the day.Fix + is a blend of minerals and vitamins as well as green tea, cucumber, and chamomile to help calm the skin. It really makes your skin feel refreshed with just a few sprays of this.
